Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria (SHIN) has won the technological breakthrough award at the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS).
The firm was also nominated in the award for excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and award for project of the year categories.
It won the award for technological breakthrough for the innovations it deployed during the construction of the Egina, the worldâs largest FPSO built for the Egina oil field, the deepest offshore oil and gas field in Nigeria.

Delivering a keynote speech, titled: Shaping the Future of Offshore and Marine Energy Together, at the offshore and marine energy session, he said as the continent continues to urbanise, the demand for energy will only increase.
