A Russian missile strike hit Odesa late Thursday evening, killing at least two people and wounding eight others, including two children, local authorities reported.

Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, confirmed the updated casualty toll on social media as rescue operations continued.

The attack damaged residential buildings, a preschool, a religious institution, vehicles and other civilian infrastructure.

Emergency and municipal crews remain at the scene, where officials have established an operational headquarters to coordinate the response and provide assistance.

“All necessary assistance is being provided to those affected,” Lysak added.
