Police on alert over Naraguta conflict

Security agencies have been placed on alert following the land dispute in Naraguta community, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Police spokesman Gabriel Agaba said policemen have been stationed in the village and will remain there for some time.

He said: “We have restored calm in the troubled area; the police have initiated peace talks between the university and the community. However, we don’t want to take chances, our men are all over the place even as the dialogue session continued.”

Agaba urged residents to go about their normal businesses and be law abiding. “Any suspicious movement should be reported promptly to security agencies immediately,” he added.
