Wike promises to complete projects

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has promised to complete all projects started by his administration before he leaves office.

Wike, who spoke on live television, said: “When I became governor in 2015, I knew I was in the opposition. I knew the Federal Government will not execute projects in this state but I cannot use that as an excuse for non-performance.

“…we built houses for judges on owner-occupier basis. Shelter is important and you cannot play with it. Those who do not want to live in those houses have asked for monetisation. When they retire, they can have a decent accommodation.

“What we have done is monumental and cannot be found in any state. It is also not limited to the judiciary. It was done for the legislature, and we also provided logistics and vehicles for the Army when the 6 Division was created.

“Our support extends to the security agencies, Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, Nigerian Bar Association and Students Union.

‘’It is our policy to enhance the capacity of the judiciary and legislature as a commitment towards actualising their independence…”
