Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friends Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele in his first social media post since a fatal car crash in Nigeria that claimed their lives.

The boxing star shared images on X and Instagram showing him alongside grieving relatives, accompanied by the caption, “My Brother’s Keeper.” The post marked Joshua’s first public message since the tragic incident on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway on Monday, December 29.

Anthony Joshua sustained minor injuries in the crash and was discharged from the hospital on New Year’s Eve. He later returned to the UK ahead of memorial services for Ghami and Ayodele, which are scheduled to take place in London on Sunday.

Ghami and Ayodele were described by Anthony Joshua’s spokesperson as “close friends and integral members of Anthony’s team.” Floral tributes have since been laid at Ghami’s gym in north London, reflecting the depth of feeling within the boxing community.

Joshua, who has strong family ties to Nigeria, has received messages of support following the tragedy as he continues to mourn the loss of two trusted members of his inner circle.
