Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 21 drones targeting the country’s Eastern Region overnight.

Ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said all drones were neutralized without casualties or damage.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions following continued U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, with Tehran responding with a series of drone and missile attacks targeting Gulf states since late February.
