A notorious bandit stronghold, known as “Dabar Dan Dari Biyar” in Sakkarawa Forest, western Sabon Birni, has been destroyed, and several bandits were killed in a major operation by troops of ‘Operation FANSAN YANMA’ in collaboration with local vigilantes and community defense groups.

Intelligence sources confirmed to security analyst Zagazola Makama that some bandits, including their leader, managed to escape despite suffering heavy casualties during the raid on February 17, 2025.

A recently rescued survivor, who had been held captive for two months at the notorious Gwali Gwali camp led by bandit kingpin Kachalla Dan Dari Biyar, shared details of his ordeal.

He revealed that the bandits had planned to deliver a ₦2 million ransom and a motorcycle to Boko Haram fighters on Thursday in exchange for hostages.

He also described the hideout as a well-structured base, complete with seating arrangements and makeshift beds, indicating the level of organization within the camp.

Security agencies have obtained critical intelligence from the rescued victim, which will aid further operations.

Meanwhile, troops have intensified their pursuit of the fleeing bandits to ensure the area is completely cleared.
