Gunmen have killed the Bajida district head of Fakai Local Government Areas of Kebbi State, Alhaji Musa Muhammad-Bahago.

An older brother of the slain district head, Alhaji Umar Muhammad, explained he was murdered on Wednesday around 4pm to 6pm on his way to his domain from Zuru town.

“He died at the age of 56, and is survived by four wives and many children,” Muhammad said.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP, Nafi’u Abubakar, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He said: ” It is true we are aware and it is unfortunate.”

He explained further: ” The man was driving himself as he was coming from Zuru town heading to his village and the unknown gunmen laid an ambush for him and brought him down from his car and killed him.

“We are making all effort to arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act.”
