Championship side Leeds United are preparing a €2m summer bid for Porto left-back Zaidu Sanusi, according to a new report.

According to Africa Foot, Leeds have opened talks with Porto over a deal to sign Sanusi this summer as they make plans to replace Junior Firpo.

The Championship side are ready to offer the full-back a deal until 2029, and the offer does not appear to depend on promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds, who sit second in the Championship, two points behind leaders Sheffield United, are aware that Firpo’s contract expires this summer, and Sanusi may offer a low-cost replacement for the former Barcelona ace.

The Porto ace has battled back from a cruciate ligament tear but has been limited to just three league appearances this season.

The Nigeria international with 22 caps is said to be keen on a potential move to Elland Road this summer, but Porto have yet to decide if they are willing to sell. His contract runs until 2027.

Leeds face Luton on Saturday as they bid to keep up the pressure on the Blades.
