Delta State Governro Sheriff Oborevwori and Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko have expressed deep sorrow over the death of prominent Urhobo son, businessman and philanthropist, Olorogun Oscar Ibru.
A statement yesterday in Asaba, the state capital, by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, reads: “On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Ibru family, the Urhobo nation, and indeed Nigerians on the passing of Olorogun Oscar Ibru.”
“He was a remarkable son of Delta who distinguished himself in business and philanthropy, and his demise is a great loss not only to his family and the Urhobo nation but to our entire state and country,” he said.
The governor commiserated with the Ibru family of Agbarha-Otor, the people of Delta State, and the Urhobo nation on the demise of the respected industrialist.
In his condolence message, Nwoko said: “I received with deep sadness, the news of the passing of Olorogun Oskar Ibru, an iconic businessman and one of Nigeria’s most respected corporate leaders.
“He was not only a pioneer in the private sector but also a beacon of excellence, hard work, and resilience, whose impact went far beyond the boardroom.”
