The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Mr Olorundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for the state command, effective from February 17, 2025.

This was disclosed by Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations, on Monday, February 17, 2025.

Before his present appointment, CP Jimoh was the Commissioner of Police for the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.

Jimoh is equipped with a wealth of experience, having served in various capacities within the force. His career has
seen him in roles such as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPPRO), Deputy Commissioner of the Airport, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigation.

Jimoh has completed training courses in many aspects of the Force’s units, including at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri. He was part of the Mission to Darfur in Sudan and is also specialized in countermeasures training against weapons of mass destruction in the United States.

The Kwara State indigene also attended training programs in China on social construction and management reform, maritime rescue, and anti-hijacking techniques.

CP Jimoh’s appointment and confirmation come after he appeared before the Police Service Commission (PSC), with the PSC’s chairman, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Hashimu Argungu, in attendance. Retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje was also present, while DIG Taiwo Lakanu, FDC, represented the police.
